Some background on iana Jewellery: Our venture into jewellery design developed in magnitude as we discovered the delight of combining our interests in art, design and visual communication. We found how enjoyable it is to immerse ourselves in the world of jewellery making. Anna began first, making jewellery with semi-precious beads and Ian followed, inspired by their beautiful composition. With the allure of precious metals and stones adding amazing possibilities, the desire to learn the craft of the goldsmith’s profession was jointly shared and seemed inevitable.
Anna combines metal and stones in a way that creates exciting relationships with an empathy for their belonging together. Her jewellery is distinctive, charismatic and aptly described as wearable art. Ian likes the tangible nature of jewellery as a three dimensional form of his earlier work as a commercial and creative photographer, specialising in visual communication and photo-graphics. He likes the potential of design in jewellery to act as metaphor by possessing significant meaning for its owner and wearer.
We work from home in our workshop which is situated in the Kent countryside, between the famous City of Canterbury and the delightful medieval town of Sandwich, United Kingdom.
